Taking babies and toddlers camping in France
We have children of varying ages and we know how difficult it can be deciding what to take on a family camping holiday to France!
To help you to decide we have put together a short list of things to remember to pack…we have also listed details about essential items that can be pre-booked with each of the holiday companies…saving you having to take them with you.
You’ll find that Canvas Holidays and Eurocamp have standard ‘baby and toddler packs’ which must be booked at the time of booking and are available for free or, at a small charge depending on the time of year.
What do camping holiday companies offer?
Canvas believes all families deserve to have a great holiday – especially with little ones!
Campsites that are great for families with young children are clearly marked on the Canvas Holidays website with a Mini-Camper’s symbol. These are sites that are generally better for younger children. They also have Mini-Campers packs and buggies which can be reserved at the time of booking and include the following items : potty, baby bath, toddler table and chairs, bed rail, booster seat and a toilet step. These are always free to borrow!
Eurocamp have a similar offer to Canvas called “Best for Toddler” campsites 78 in total, which have been selected by pitch location in safer areas away from lakes, rivers and busy roads.
The “Best for Toddler” sites have various items such as cots, high chairs, baby baths, potties, baby changing mats, bed rails, buggies and rumble trucks which can be reserved at the time of booking.
Many of the items can also be booked at other Eurocamp campsites.
As well as the larger items it is essential to remember to bring the smaller items that you will need during your family camping holiday to France such as milk formula, bottles, sterilisers, nappies, swim nappies, wipes, sun cream, blackout blinds and swimming aids.
