Exploring the region...
Auvergne and Ardeche provide visitors with some of the most splendid natural scenery that a camping holiday in France has to offer. It is an area that both families and schools have visited for years.
Auvergne is well known for having the largest group of volcano’s in Europe, with one of its' main attractions being Vulcania which is a volcano park. The regions river is a paradise for those wishing to canoe and along the banks you will find around 50 Chateau’s.
It is also well know for having around 500 Romanesque style churches, many hilltop castles, as well as being home to many spa towns and is the birth place of Volvic mineral water.
Ardeche is most famous for the river that runs through its limestone hills and gorges offering some of the best canoeing, rafting and other water sports available.
Schools and families from the UK have gone camping in Ardeche and Auvergne for years so that children can discover and enjoy all the excitement the region has to offer.
The regions are not just for those seeking excitement, as there are many more subdued activities people can partake in, like walking, cycling or just exploring the regions natural wonders. The Grottes de la Madeleine and Aven d’Orgnac offer a magical look at the wondrous sights that can be found below ground in the shape of the magnificent honeycombed caves.
