Explore the region on a camping holiday!

The areas of Royan, Gascony and Gironde are generally described as being in the south west of France. All three areas encompass the Atlantic coast, but also boast some of Frances’ most ancient and beautiful sites.

The areas have miles of golden beaches and superb waves, treating those surfers and body boarders who flock to the region every year. The many inland lakes, behind the large sand dunes also provide another opportunity for anyone wishing to enjoy more subdued watersports.

Royan, Gascony and Gironde have always been popular with families, providing the perfect beach holiday due to the many hours of sun for all to enjoy.

One of the most recognisable towns in France has to be Bordeaux.

Famed for producing some of the finest wines in France it has some spectacular architecture and also provides a wealth of choice for those interested in trying the local foods. The region also provides landscape which is a contrast to the rolling beaches including the highest sand dune in Europe at Dune de Pilat and the pine forest of Les Landes.

The further south you go, you find that life is more relaxed. With sleepy villages and vineyards dotted throughout the rolling hills and valleys finally leading to the Spanish border and the Pyrenees its hardly surprising that the residents are said to have the longest lifespan in France.
