Explore Vendee on a camping holiday!

Camping in Vendee is very popular with families looking for the perfect camping holiday in France. The main reason for it’s popularity is that the Vendee is a region which can boast on average around 2500 hours of sunshine every year with up to 9 hours a day alone in July.

With its woodlands, marshlands, trails and fields running inland, to its majestic mile upon mile of golden sandy beaches, the climate combined with the topography of the area allow for one of the best holiday experiences that France has to offer.

Those families camping in Vendee with children, will find that the beaches are some of the best in France with many having attained a blue flag rating.

The areas of Jard sur Mer and St Vincent sur Jard are popular with families that have smaller children, who enjoy the excitement of finding all the wildlife that rock pooling has to offer. Those with slightly older children and teenagers may prefer the Atlantic water park at St Hilarie-de-Riez with its’ water chutes and pools.

For the slightly more adventurous, various water sports including kayaking, dinghy sailing and windsurfing to name a few, are readily available within a short distance of many of the campsites.

The Vendee has many smaller picturesque villages both on the coast and further inland with two larger places not to be missed being the towns of Nantes and La Rochelle.

It is no wonder that people camping in Vendee tend to return for further holidays time and time again.

So if you have gone camping in the one of the other northern regions of France before, why not travel a little further south and see what the Vendee and the campsites in Vendee have to offer.
