Paris Marathon 2017 – Marathon de Paris
The Paris Marathon or Marathon de Paris is one of the most popular marathons in the world.
Each year over 50,000 head to Paris to test themselves over the 42.195km route, taking in such wonderful sights as the Champs Elysees, the Arc de Triomphe, the Place de la Concorde, the Place de la Bastille, the Eiffel Tower and Notre Dame.
The first Paris Marathon was run in 1896 and covered a slightly shorter distance of 40km and was won by and English entrant called Leonard Hurst.
Online registration for the 2017 Paris Marathon can be done through the Schneider Electric Paris Marathon website or those wishing to run for a chosen charity can do so by contacting the charity directly. Major charities such as Cancer UK, MacMillan, Great Ormond Street Hospital, Marie Curie, the British Heart Foundation and many others can assist with this.
As you can imagine it’s not only the runners that head to Paris for the Paris Marathon. Like many other marathons around the world, many family members and friends of the runners head to the location to show their support as do many people who just love running or love watching these major events.
Therefore please remember that accommodation is inevitably in high demand around the time of the Paris marathon as people head to Paris to prepare and also to stay to discover the city afterwards.
In our opinion the best way to avoid missing out on your ideal accommodation is to book as far in advance as possible.
