Le Clarys Plage
Le Clarys Plage is a superb fun filled family friendly campsite located in the Vendee region of France which offers an array of activities and facilities making it just perfect for a family camping holiday.
The campsite is a firm favourite with families of all ages many of whom have visited previously only to return due to the superb pool complex which lies at it’s heart. Featuring a variety of water slides for different ages, the pool complex also boasts an indoor pool, a jacuzzi, a lazy river and a dragon and sea monster themed splash park.

One of the great things about Le Clarys Plage campsite is it’s close proximity to the nearby beach. Les Mouettes Plage is the closest beach at only a few hundred meters walk away and is long and covered in glorious sand. Those who are either unhappy to or unable to walk will find a free car park right at the entrance to the beach. If you’re happy to travel a little further, you can find a myriad of different beaches all within a few kilometres including an 8km stretch a short distance away at St Jean de Monts.
When you’ve finished having fun for the day, you can sit back and relax at your mobile home or tent or take part in the evening entertainment. There’s a take away, bar, games room and a variety of entertainment throughout high season including discos magic shows and much more.

Whilst staying at Le Clarys Plage campsite why not find out what the local area has to offer. Exploring nearby towns and places of interest is a great way of making the most of your holiday in France.

The Ile d’Yeu is located around 10km off the coast of the Vendee and can be easily reached by ferry from Fromentine throughout the year and from La Fosse on the Noirmoutier en I’le, and Saint Gilles Croix de Vie during summer months. The island can be easily explored by foot, car or by bicycle and there’s also a bus which takes visitors around the island.
A paradise for nature lovers, Ile d’Yeu offers visitors plenty of opportunity to get back to nature with a walk along one of the many beaches, cycle along one of the many tracks and take in many of the cliff top views including those available from the Vieux Chateau which is situated along the cliff top.
The Chateau d’Apremont lies around 27km to the east of Le Clarys Plage campsite and was originally constructed in the 12th century overlooking the river Vie.
The current ruined chateau dates back to around the 16th century and the two surviving towers were part of the renaissance chateau which was built at this time by Philippe Chabot de Brion who was the Admiral of France. Chateau d’Apremont is open throughout the year for visitors and entry prices are very reasonable.
Saint Jean de Monts
Saint Jean de Monts can be found only 7km to the northwest of Le Clarys Plage and is a highly popular and modern holiday resort. Originally a fishing village, Saint Jean de Monts has changed throughout the years to provide visitors to the region a wonderful beach resort offering all of the things you’ll require from a family holiday.
The 8km long beach is wonderfully sandy, long and boasts a number of play areas, sporting activities, places to eat and even a promenade. Behind the beach lies a vibrant town with a variety of shops, restaurants, bars and places to sit and relax.
The Feeling Forest is located only 3km to the southeast of Le Clarys Plage campsite and is a high wire treetop adventure playground. Suitable for those children 6 years and over, you’ll find a variety of courses for visitors to test their skill and agility high up in the trees.
Although the high wire courses are only for those 6 and over, younger visitors and those who are afraid of heights will find that the playground and mini golf are just as much fun!
