Baume les Messieurs
Baume les Messieurs is a pretty village located at the point where three valleys meet 24km to the west of Domaine de Chalain campsite. The Abbey is a popular tourist attraction and is famous for it’s 16th century framed alter piece.

Chateau de Joux
The Chateau de Joux can be found 72km to the northeast of Domaine de Chalain and occupies a truly wonderful position on top of the cliffs high above the mountain pass “Cluse de Pontarlier”. Breathtaking views are available from the Chateau which was built originally from wood in the 11th Century. To compliment the views, the Chateau holds a great deal of historical items within it’s museum. Over 600 exhibits show visitors how the Chateau and warfare has changed throughout the centuries and a guided tour of the museum and Chateau are well worthwhile.
Herisson Falls are made up of many separate waterfalls located within a picturesque valley around 12km to the south of Domaine de Chalain campsite. The falls are a listed natural heritage site and well worth visiting. The best way to see the waterfalls are on the 7.4km route which takes approximately 3 hours to walk round.
