La Pointe St Gilles by Eden Aged 11

This short review has been written by Eden aged 11 following her visit with her family and friends to La Pointe St Gilles in Brittany.

Over May half term my family and I (along with some friends) went to La Pointe St Gilles for a weeks holiday.

We stayed in a Safari tent with Eurocamp. The tent had a large room that could be divided into three separate rooms with curtains in between. One of these had a double bed and the other two had a single bed or bunk beds. In front of this was a large living space, with the table and chairs and a fridge and storage. It also had a small gas burner with a kettle for us to use.

The campsite has lots of things to do for children. The swimming pool complex consists of two indoor pools, an outdoor pool and a toddler pool. It also has an indoor tunnel slide, an indoor bumpy slide and an outdoor open slide and a lazy river. These were good fun!

The campsite also has one playground, split into two. In here there were climbing frames, swings, slides, an outside mini gym, and a roundabout.

In the evening there was entertainment for all the family, this takes place near the bar, games room and restaurant. There was a children’s disco, a quiz night, a live band and the kids club performance.

Kids club took place in a large field. It had different coloured tents for the different age groups. We went to kids club every day but Friday as it wasn’t on. We did different activities every day under a different theme. One day it was Time Travel and on another it was Cowboys. Activities were then set around these themes. So we made our own time travel passports and we played different games at set times throughout the day. On Cowboy day, we took part in horse races and a lasso game. We also had to practice for our performance in the evening entertainment.

Whilst we were holidaying in Benodet, we visited Quimper for the morning. Quimper was about 20 minutes away and it is an old cathedral town. We visited the cathedral and looked around the shops. We also visited the town of Benodet, where there is a lovely sandy beach. Benodet also has some shops and restaurants, where we went for our evening meal one day.

The campsite was about an hour and a half drive from Roscoff and the weather for the week we were there was very sunny with a couple of rain showers.
