Welcome to part 4 of our useful French phrases when camping in France or simply on holiday. Part 4 is invaluable covering Sightseeing and Directions.

Sightseeing

Where can I find an art museum? – Où y a-t-il un musée?
Where can I find an art gallery? – Où y a-t-il une galerie d’art?
Where can I find the zoo? – Où se trouve le zoo?
Where’s the tourist office? – Ou se trouve l’office du tourisme?
Is there an English speaking guide? – Y a-t-il un guide qui parle anglais?
When does it open? – A partir de quelle heure est-ce ouvert?
When does it close? – Quelle est l’heure de fermeture?
How much is the entrance fee? – Combien coute l’entree?

Directions

Excuse me – Excusez-moi.
Where is… – Où se trouve…
the bus stop? – l’arret de bus?
the subway station? – la station de métro?
the toilets? – les toilettes?

the nearest bank? – la banque la plus proche?
To the right – À droite.
To the left – À gauche.
Straight ahead – Tout droit.
It’s on the other side of the street – C’est de l’autre cote de la rue.
It’s around the corner – C’est après le coin.
