Douce Quietude campsite is located in Saint-Raphael in the Cote d’Azur region of France.
Douce Quietude is a fantastic 5 star, family friendly campsite that occupies a wonderful position at the foot of the Esterel Massif near to St Raphael in the Cote d’Azur.
The campsite lies within 10 hectares of pine forest and is exceptionally well landscaped. Lots of palm trees, colourful flowers and bushes adorn the campsite to give you a real Mediterranean feeling to your holiday.
Douce Quietude is perfect for families of all ages. During high season the campsite is lively and filled with fun and outside of school holidays it’s less busy and tends to be ideal for those with toddlers.
The range and quality of activities available at the campsite are second to none and you’ll also find plenty to see and do nearby. If you love the great outdoors then you’ll be pleased to know that the Esterel Massif provides a number of tracks and trails that are perfect for walkers and mountain biking. Nearby you’ll also find lots of lovely towns and villages to visit.

St Raphael has a great range of beaches where the warm Mediterranean sea will lap against the golden sand creating the perfect day out. The campsite also provides a shuttle bus during high season which takes you to the beach and saves you having to drive.

Things to see and do
There are plenty of things to see and do, and places to visit, within a short distance of Douce Quietude campsite including:
- Saint Raphael – Saint Raphael is a wonderful seaside resort which can be found 5km to the southwest of Douce Quietude campsite. Popular with water sports enthusiasts, visitors to Saint Raphael can take part in a variety of activities such as sea fishing, swimming, diving and sailing. The main beach at Saint Raphael is covered in soft golden sand and is backed by a lovely long promenade. Within the town itself you’ll find a great variety of shops and the cafes, restaurants and bars provide the perfect place where you can sit down and enjoy the summer sun with a snack, drink or spot of lunch.
- Frejus – Frejus is a lovely place to visit as not only is it home to Aqualand and Luna Park but also has a great variety of local history and culture. Frejus was once an important Roman town as can be seen from the amphitheatre. Smaller than the one at Nimes, the amphitheatre was large enough to hold around 10,000 people who would have gone there to watch fights. Nowadays however the amphitheatre is used for more modern day entertainment such as concerts and shows. The Roman theme continues with the museum that holds a variety of artefacts and the remains of the Roman aqueduct which is still visible today.
- Aqualand – Being the largest water park in the region means that you’re guaranteed lots of fun and excitement. Aqualand boasts a great range of slides and chutes which are suitable for a variety of ages and abilities. There’s a separate splash area with jets and small slides for younger children and for the more adventurous there are adrenaline filled slides and chutes. Fast passes are worth considering as the park does get quite busy during high season due to its popularity. If you’re looking for a great water park with lots of great slides, make sure you check out Aqualand.
- Cannes – If you’re into your films then you may like to take a trip to the movie capital of France, Cannes. Cannes is such a popular city with the rich and famous, that whenever you visit, you may well bump into a famous actor. If however you fail to do so, take a walk along the Boulevard de la Croisette. Here you’ll find a selection of actor’s handprints pressed into the pavement below your feet. Whilst visiting Cannes ensure you take in some of the city’s history and architecture. The older part of Cannes boasts an 11th Century watchtower and you’ll also find a variety of interesting museums and galleries including the Castre museum which is located in the medieval Chateau de la Castre.
