Things to see and do
There are plenty of things to see and do, and places to visit, within a short distance of Holiday Green campsite including:
- Luna Park – Filled with music, lights and fun, Luna Park is a great funfair attraction with lots of different rides available for a variety of ages. Ride the magic mountain or big wheel, get scared on the ghost train or relax with the little ones on a slower paced ride, the choice is yours. Although prices can be a little high all the family are guaranteed to have a good time at Luna Park. The park is open every day in high season and at weekends at all other times.
- Aqualand – Aqualand water park is really popular with tourists and is the biggest water park in the Cote d’Azur. There are a variety of slides and pools for all ages and abilities with adrenaline fuelled rides for those wanting a bit of excitement along with the slower more relaxed rides for the less adventurous. Fast passes are available to buy and in our opinion it’s worth splashing out on them as the park can get very busy in high season. If you’re planning on visiting Aqualand, make sure you plan to stay there all day to make the most of your visit.
- Frejus – Dating back to Roman times, there are still some interesting places to visit including the Roman amphitheatre. A bit smaller than the one found in Nimes the amphitheatre held up to 10,000 people and would probably have been the location of gladiatorial battles although now it’s used for a variety of shows and concerts. The main centre of the town is also worth seeing as it shows off its medieval history and whilst in Frejus it’s also worth visiting some of the other historical monuments such as the remains of the Roman Aqueduct and the cathedral.
- Saint Paul de Vence – The charm and beauty of Saint Paul de Vence lies mainly in its beautiful setting. This lovely medieval town sits perched on a hill overlooking the valleys below. The fortified town has kept much of its charm and as such is a mecca for photographers and has become one of the major centres for modern art in France. Within the towns walls you’ll find a myriad of narrow streets holding over a thousand years of history. There are many historical building and places to see when in Saint Paul de Vence and we suggest you pop into the local tourist information centre on your arrival to pick up a map.
