La Chapelle campsite is located in Argeles-sur-Mer in the Roussillon region of France.
La Chapelle is a wonderfully peaceful campsite which can be found in the middle of Argeles-Plage, a short walk from the resort of Argeles-sur-Mer on the south coast of France.
Perfect for those wanting somewhere they can relax, La Chapelle is set within 9 hectares of carefully landscaped grounds so that the trees around the campsite provide you with a sense of being within the country. In actual fact, although the Pyrenees can be seen in the distance, La Chapelle lies just a stones throw from the local beach and Argeles-sur-Mer.
Although there are a great range of activities and facilities at La Chapelle, its location means that if there’s anything that isn’t available on-site you’ll find it nearby. Those after a little excitement will find a lot to do in Argeles. There are plenty of water sports available and a selection of shops, bars, restaurants and cafes to explore.
The nearby beach is perfect for a bit of family fun. Just a matter of minutes away the beach benefits from some truly stunning views out to sea and of the mountains. You’ll also find that the large expanse of beach means you’ll have plenty of space to relax with a bit of sunbathing, splashing around in the warm water, building sandcastles or playing beach games, the choice is yours!
On your arrival at La Chapelle, children are instantly drawn to the fantastic swimming pool complex that lies at the heart of the campsite and to be fair it’s not surprising. There are a number of superb swimming pools with a selection of water slides for all the family and of course some lovely sun terracing where you can relax after a dip.

Things to see and do
There are plenty of things to see and do, and places to visit, within a short distance of La Chapelle campsite including:
- Argeles Adventure – If you’re looking for a spot of adventure and excitement whilst camping in the south of France then a trip to Argeles Adventure should be on your list. This wonderful adventure playground offers a variety of high wire courses for all ages and abilities. Those younger children aged 2-4 will find an area specifically designed for them to have fun whilst those aged over 5 will find a brilliant range of courses with 120 sections filled with swings, bridges, jumps and zip lines.
- Collioure – Collioure is an extremely popular place to visit whilst camping in the south of France. This wonderfully picturesque village lies a mere 15km from the border with Spain and has seen many famous artists visit it in the past due to its wonderful scenery and pretty painted, quaint fishing cottages. There’s plenty for visitors to see at Collioure including the Chateau Royal de Collioure and the church of Notre Dame des Angers. The church is located at one end of the harbour whilst the stunning castle lies at the other and offers visitors some wonderful photo opportunities. The Chateau was built in the 13th Century and was once home to both the Knights Templars and the Kings of Majorca.
- Aqualand St Cyprien – Slides, chutes and a great amount of watery fun await you at Roussillon’s largest water park. If you love the thrill of water slides you really should make this one of your top places to visit whilst in the south of France. There are many Aqualand water parks throughout France and Spain and if you’ve been to an Aqualand water park before then you know exactly what to expect. You’ll find a comprehensive range of pools, chutes and slides suitable for all different ages designed to ensure you have fun! There’s a lazy river, a jacuzzi, inflatable water slide, twisty slides and many more but to name just a few.
- Castelnou – A trip to this wonderful region of France is not complete without a trip to Castelnou. This wonderful medieval village lies nestled on a hillside and is classified as Plus Beaux Villages de France (one of the most beautiful villages in France). Many of the medieval buildings within this wonderful village are superbly preserved and lie at foot of the castle. As you approach the village it will fill anyone interested in history with a sense of amazement and wonder. The streets of the village are lined with wonderful properties and the ramparts and towers that remain along with the 10th Century castle provide the ideal backdrop for some amazing photo opportunities. It’s possible to visit the castle where you’ll be able to find out more about life in medieval times and there’s also a wonderful local market during the summer months where you can buy all sorts of produce.
