La Ravoire campsite is located in Doussard in the Alps region of France.
La Ravoire is a beautiful 4 star campsite which can be found at the southwestern end of Lake Annecy within the French Alps.
The campsite is small and covers just over 2 hectares however please don’t let this put you off. Although small in stature the campsite really does pack a substantial punch. The views from around the campsite are absolutely stunning with beautiful mountain scenes and snow covered hills everywhere. The grounds themselves are well landscaped to provide you with a really peaceful yet luxurious atmosphere.
La Ravoire is the perfect campsite to use as a base to explore the whole area and is just as popular with nature lovers as it is with sports and outdoor enthusiasts. Being located just 1km from the shores off the Lake Annecy means that there’s lots of opportunity to go canoeing, kayaking or sailing and the many trails and paths around the campsite and lake allow you to get out on foot or bicycle.
Back on-site at La Ravoire campsite you’ll find a pleasant range of activities for you to take part in but in our opinion you really can’t beat just sitting back in the sun, breathing in some wonderful mountain air and relaxing in the peace and tranquil environment.
If you fancy taking a dip in the pool between relaxing and exploring then you won’t be disappointed by what you find at the campsite. Boasting three swimming pools which come complete with slides and a lovely sun terrace, you’re sure to have a fabulous time.

- Chateau de Menthon St Barnard – The medieval castle Chateau de Menthon St Barnard is located around 15km to the northeast of La Ravoire campsite and is worth visiting if you’re at all interested in French history. The castle was originally constructed out of wood in around the 10th century, although the modern castle that you’ll see if you visit today, was constructed in around the 13th century. The castle offer visitors an insight into the regions history with around 105 rooms that are filled with a variety of antiquities from throughout the centuries. - Doussard – A short walk from the campsite will bring you to this pretty village where you can sit back, relax and enjoy some of the local produce. Doussard is not the largest of places but we think you’ll agree that the views from the village are wonderful and the small selection of shops, bars and restaurants are well worth the walk.
- Aix les Bains – Aix les Bains is a beautiful town which lies on the edge of the Lac du Bourget. The town is steeped in history and is most famous for being a spa town with thermal springs that date back to Roman times. You’ll also find a variety of Roman remains that you can view including the Arc de Campanus and the remains of the temple near to the town hall. In the 19th century spa towns were very popular and as a result much of the towns architecture dates back to this period of time. There’s much to see at Aix les Bains and if you’re in the area it’s well worth a visit.
- Grotte et Cascade de Seythenex – Grotte et Cascade de Seythenex provides visitors with an insight into the magical natural properties of the region.
