During high season visitors to L’Etoile d’Argens can catch the free ferry boat which will take you down the river to Saint-Aygulf and to the beach.
The free ferry ensures that you can have a truly relaxing holiday should you wish not to drive. Simply jump on the boat and then explore Saint-Aygulf and its lovely sandy beaches before returning later on in the day. The river also provides the chance for a spot of fishing.
Back at L’Etoile d’Argens you’ll love the swimming pool complex. Adjoining the bar and the restaurant, the swimming pool area is a heavenly paradise. Surrounded by green plants, palm trees and flowers, you’ll find a lovely sun terrace for relaxing and three pleasantly heated swimming pools.

There are plenty of things to see and do, and places to visit, within a short distance of L’Etoile d’Argens campsite including:
- Aqualand – The largest water park in the Cote d’Azur region of France, Aqualand has a variety of slides for all ages and abilities from fast adrenaline rides to mini pools for younger children. Entry prices are average for water parks however it’s worth considering purchasing fast passes as the park tends to get very busy during high season leading to queues. If you’re looking for a spot of watery fun make sure you take some food and stay at Aqualand all day to ensure you get the most out of your visit.
- Saint Raphael – Saint Raphael is a lovely resort with plenty of restaurants, bars, cafes, shops and of course a brilliant beach. The resort is also highly popular with water sports enthusiasts with activities such as fishing, diving and sailing on offer. Two places worth visiting whilst in Saint Raphael are the Eglise des Templiers which is a church that dates from the 12th Century. Here you’ll be able to see some Roman remains and the museum of underwater archeology which offers visitors the chance to see a variety of items found off the coast by Jacques Cousteau such as Roman artefacts, ships anchors and much more.
- Cannes – Cannes is of course famous for the film festival which is held in the city, so ensure you keep an eye out for any celebrities and film stars that may be passing. Along the Boulevard de la Croisette you’ll find a variety of gardens and trees but see if you can spot famous actors hand prints in the concrete below your feet. Whilst in Cannes don’t forget to see some of the wonderful architecture, history and culture that’s on offer. A trip to the old part of town will lead you to the 11th Century watchtower and you’ll also find a selection of interesting museums and galleries including the Castre museum which can be found in the remains of the medieval Chateau de la Castre.
- Roquebrune-sur-Argens – This quintessentially French village is a really nice relaxing place to visit if you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the beach resorts. Take a stroll around the village to discover the 16th Century watchtower and 16th Century church or visit the Lac de L’Arena where you’ll find some nice lakeside beaches to relax on, the choice is yours.
