Le Vieux Port Messanges
If you’re looking for somewhere fun and lively to go camping in France, then Le Vieux Port could be the choice for you. One of the largest campsites in the area, Le Vieux Port continues to be a very popular choice with families of all ages.
We loved Le Vieux Port for many reasons but two of the best features of this campsite are the campsites location and the amazing pool complex.
So let’s focus firstly on the location. Le Vieux Port is situated in the heart of a large pine forest with direct access to a beautiful, long, sandy beach, which is great for adults and children alike.
The region boarders the Atlantic coast and the beach shelves quite steeply into the sea providing the perfect location for watersports of all types including body boarding and surfing. As with all Atlantic beaches however the waves must be respected, to ensure that a fun and safe time is had by all.
The second reason was the spectacular pool complex. Boasting one of the largest theme aquatic parks of all French campsites, Le Vieux Port has 7 pools including 2 outdoor pools, 1 indoor pool heated to about 28 degrees, 2 spa’s, 1 wave pool, 2 paddling pools complete with games, 2 waterslides for the over 10’s and 1 children’s waterslide for the over 3’s.
The pool complex is around 1400m2 of water, in an area of 7000m2 complete with around 700 sun beds allowing you to relax and soak up some of the sun whilst your children play.
If the beach and the pool complex are not enough for you, then Le Vieux Port has many other activities on offer, for all members of your family. From the usual sports facilities, such as football and tennis, to horse riding and pony trekking and if you still want more then less than 10km away from the campsite itself you can find a golf course, driving range, quad biking, fishing and many other watersports.
Last of all we thought we’d better mention what’s on site. Le Vieux Port doesn’t disappoint on this either, having several shops, a restaurant, snack bar, take away, creperie, pizzeria and bar.
We thinks it’s fair to say that Le Vieux Port is one of our favourite campsites in the south west of France and is a sun, sea and fun holiday location for all.
