We’ve put together a list of our Top 5 Theme Parks in France so whether your looking for a fun filled day of thrills or you wish to meet your favourite Disney characters then this is the list you need to read. Theme parks in France come in all shapes and sizes and we know that the main thing kids want from a family holiday is to have fun.
ZooParc de Beauval is one of the best zoological parks in France, if not the world! Located at Saint-Aignan in the Loir-et-Cher department of France, ZooParc de Beauval is quite commonly known as just Beauval Zoo and is a wonderful place to visit. There’s a huge variety of different types of animals at the zoo including Giant Pandas which cannot be found anywhere else in France.
Chateau de Castelnaud is a stunning medieval castle which is located in the village of Castelnaud-la-Chapelle in the Dordogne region of France. Overlooking the Dordogne river between Beynac and La Roque Gageac, Chateau de Castelnaud holds a formidable position. We visited the chateau during our visit to Saint Avit Loisirs campsite where we stayed with Eurocamp.
Mont Saint Michel is an awe inspiring sight and it’s hardly surprising that it is one of the most popular tourist attractions in France. Located in the Manche department of Normandy near to the Brittany border, Mont Saint Michel can be seen from many miles away. We recently visited Mont Saint Michel whilst staying at Domaine des Ormes and the view as you approach is spectacular.
Carnac is a small town located in the Morbihan department of Brittany on it’s southern coastline. It’s believed that the name Carnac may come from the Celtic word “Cairn or Carn” which means a mound of stones erected as a marker or memorial. The Standing Stones at Carnac are truly remarkable and date back to the prehistoric age.
We looked at the weather forecast for St Jean Day Monts and were greeted by the prospect of rain for only the second time during our family holiday in France. With three boys to entertain we decided to leave the campsite in search of something to see and do. The first place we visited was the Chateau at Noirmoutier-en-l’ile, just to the north of the campsite.
