Camping International Paris 2016

Camping International Paris 2016

Camping International at Maisons Laffitte near Paris was our choice for a stopover campsite this summer.

We had decided to cross the English Channel from Dover to Calais on a midday crossing and as our first main campsite was Saint Avit Loisirs in the Dordogne, we decided that we wanted to stay somewhere near to Paris to allow us a shorter journey the following day.

We had a great crossing and the trip using the Autoroutes down to Paris was great. On arrival we were greated by the Eurocamp courier who was both friendly and informative.

Our choice of accommodation was the Eurocamp 2 bedroom classic mobile home which offered a single bed and bunk beds in the second bedroom which was ideal for our family of 5.

The campsite is well laid out and is in a great location along the banks of the river Seine. If you’d like to find out more about the campsite please visit our Camping International page.

Now, if you’re looking for a campsite with a plethora of activities, facilities and a great swimming pool, we suggest you look again as Camping International will surely disappoint you.

Camping International offers you the basics of a restaurant, take away, bar and small play area but with the benefits of offering a fantastic location near to the major Autoroutes and also close to some of France’s popular attractions.

One thing we’d like to mention however is the restaurant. You can sit outside and watch the world go by along the river Seine which is very relaxing. The staff were very friendly and the portion sizes are massive as even after a long drive I was surprised to find that I struggled to eat the whole meal which annoyed me as the food was of great quality!

For those looking to visit by plane, the campsite is ideally located just a few minutes walk from the local train station which can be accessed from both Charles de Gaulle and Orly airports in just over an hour by public transport or easily if you’d rather hire a car.

Exploring Paris from Camping International

As we’ve already said, Camping International is ideally placed for exploring the surrounding area. Major attractions such as the Palace of Versailles is just 19km away whilst Disneyland Paris is just 66km away and Parc Asterix 52km.

Although all of the above are more easily reached by car, it is also possible to get to them using public transport links. For those who only wish to use public transport, local links are also ideal for when you want to take a look around Paris itself.

Major tourist attractions can be found only 20km away and the local Metro and train service allows you to reach Le Louvre in just 40 minutes with other main attractions in Paris being reachable in around an hour of leaving the campsite.

Overnight Stay at Camping International

We only stayed at Camping International for one night on our way further south and in our opinion it is perfect for anyone wishing to do the same. On leaving the campsite we were back on the Autoroute in no time at all and were quickly back en route to St Avit Loisirs.
