We’ve picked our Top 10 Eurocamp French campsites for 2020 based on the quality of their swimming pools, location, reviews and facilities. We’ve also done a price comparison for the 2020 camping season so you can see how they compare with the cheapest 2 bedroom holiday home shown.
Unlike other websites, our price comparison will show the same week in August in 2020. The week we chose is Saturday 22nd August 2020 – Saturday 29th August 2020 because many families choose to travel from Saturday to Saturday and not during mid-week when prices are lower. Saint Avit Loisirs, Dordogne, France – Best Campsite for Swimming Pools
It won’t surprise anyone who’s been to Saint Avit Loisirs to see it on our list of the best Eurocamp campsites in France.
The campsite has lots to do on-site and is located in a wonderful part of the Dordogne, however its fabulous swimming pool complex is excellent This premier campsite has no less than six different pools. These include indoor heated family and children’s pools and four outside family swimming pools. You’ll also find a jacuzzi and a great range of water slides and chutes which provide bucket loads of fun. One of our favourite things about the swimming pool area at Saint Avit Loisirs is the children’s splash park. Filled with lots of colourful objects spurting water, the splash park is perfect for little ones who want to get wet!

Le Soleil, Roussillon, France – Best Campsite for the Beach
If you’re looking for a campsite in France near to a beach then there really are tons to choose from however Le Soleil is our best Eurocamp campsite for the beach for several reasons.
Firstly the Roussillon region of France boasts some truly fantastic weather with plenty of sunshine and warm seas which is probably one of the main things most people look for in a beach holiday. Secondly, Le Soleil is the only campsite with direct beach access in Argelès-sur-Mer. Finally, there are plenty of watersports available on the beach and there are other beaches nearby.

Club Farret, Languedoc, France – Best Campsite for Car Free Holidays
If you don’t fancy the thought of driving in France then you’ll find plenty of campsites not far from an airport. We’ve chosen Club Farret as our best Eurocamp car-free campsite for two reasons. Firstly for its distance from the airport but also the fact, there are plenty of things to do nearby without needing a car.
Club Farret is only 8km from Béziers airport. From the airport, it’s a short taxi ride direct to the campsite. It also has access to a terrific beach which is a short distance away. All of these great benefits make Club Farret perfect for a car-free holiday in France.

Les Mouettes, Brittany – Best Campsite for the Ferry
Our best Eurocamp campsite for the ferry has been chosen due to its quality and closeness to one of the cross channel ferry ports. Just because you’d rather take your car to France it doesn’t mean that you have to drive a long way.
Therefore our best for the ferry is Les Mouettes near Carantac in Brittany. Located just 21 minutes drive from Roscoff ferry port, Les Mouettes is a great campsite with lots of benefits.
Part of the Yelloh Village group of campsites, Les Mouettes offers a fantastic location a short distance from the beach. You’ll also find some great activities and facilities on-site including a brilliant swimming pool complex with some of the best slides in Brittany.

Disneyland Paris is a highly popular theme park and it’s really not surprising. If you’re looking for the best Eurocamp campsite for visiting Disneyland Paris then there’s only one real winner in our opinion, La Croix du Vieux Pont.
La Croix du Vieux Pont is just 90 minutes from Disneyland Paris and offers much more than many other campsites in the area. Offering four swimming pools, including one with a retractable roof, slides and lots of places to soak up the sun, the swimming pool complex is just one great thing about the campsite.

Now when it comes to best for toddlers we’ve chosen a real family favourite, La Pointe St Gilles in Brittany.
Now Eurocamp specialises in providing only the best family-friendly campsites in France. So as you can see there are likely to be many that would fit the bill for best for toddlers. We have however chosen our favourite based on a number of things. When you have young children generally you don’t really want to travel too far, you want great facilities, a good swimming pool and maybe a beach and this site has it all in abundance.

La Vallee, Normandy – Best Campsite for History
We know that France clearly has a vast amount of history but Normandy offers a unique insight into the Norman Conquest and more importantly WW2.
On a trip to Normandy, you can learn more about this significant time in modern history. From the iconic beaches to the museums, cemeteries and awe-inspiring stories of the brave men that fought and also died there. We’ve therefore chosen the best Eurocamp campsite for history to be La Vallee.
La Vallee is one of the regions best campsites by far. Occupying a stunning rural setting, La Valle lies only a stones throw from a number of great beaches. You’ll also find hundreds of historic WW2 sites available within a short drive of the campsite. The D-Day landing beaches are just along the coast and you’ll also find a number of museums nearby.

Camping La Rive, Gascony – Best Campsite for Watersports
Watersports are great fun, keep you active and ensure you keep cool in the hot summer sun. The best Eurocamp campsite for watersports in our opinion is La Rive near Biscarosse.
La Rive is located on a large lake and only a short drive from the local beaches. Although the coast provides some great watersport opportunities we chose La Rive due to its fantastic lake. On its own lakeside beach, you’ll find Bruno and his range of watersports for hire. These include SUP’s, canoes, catamarans, flyboard, oxoon, wakeboarding and an inflatable banana boat.

Domaine de Chalain, Jura – Best Campsite for Lakes
Domaine de Chalain has to be one of the best campsites with a lake that we’ve seen.
Domaine de Chalain is our best for lakes parc because it’s perfect for anyone wanting to spend their holiday gazing out across a beautiful lake with stunning scenery and views as far as the eye can see.
The lake is large and offers a variety of watersports including fishing, swimming, canoeing, pedalos and there is also a lovely beach where you can just sit and relax. The campsite is also a paradise for walkers. Located at the foothills of the Jura mountains and surrounded by the lake and forest you’ll find plenty of places to walk.
