Review of the Pool Complex at Domaine d’Inly
The pool complex is definitely the star of the show at Domaine d’Inly! The kids were obsessed with the slides—there’s a multi-lane racer slide, a lazy river, and even a wave pool as you can see from the video. For parents, the heated indoor pool is a lifesaver on chillier days, and the Jacuzzis are a welcome touch of luxury.
The outdoor pool area is great for lounging, with plenty of sunbeds and space to relax. We spent so much time here that it felt like a second home! The design of the pool complex is family-oriented, with separate zones for toddlers, kids, and adults. The toddler pool features a gentle slide and interactive water features, which kept our youngest entertained for hours.
For thrill-seekers, the water slides are an absolute must-try. The wave pool, in particular, became a family favourite as we laughed and splashed together. If you prefer a more relaxed vibe, the lazy river is ideal for floating along and soaking in the sun. Just make sure to pack some Lycra swimwear, as it’s required for the pools (a common swimming pool rule in France).
The indoor pool area is also well-equipped, with a heated main pool and a smaller paddling pool for little ones. It was a blessing to have this option on cooler days, and it felt just as clean and inviting as the outdoor facilities. We did notice that during peak times, it can get a little crowded, so it’s best to visit early in the day if you want to secure a sunbed or enjoy quieter moments.
Beach, Pénestin and Surroundings
We absolutely loved exploring the area around Domaine d’Inly. The nearby beaches are stunning, especially Plage de la Mine d’Or with its golden cliffs. It’s a brilliant spot for paddleboarding, swimming, or just building sandcastles with the kids. The crystal-clear waters and soft sandy shores make it ideal for families, while the dramatic cliffside views provide a perfect backdrop for holiday photos.
One of our favourite days was a bike ride straight from the campsite. We followed a lovely cycle path to Tréhiguier, a charming village, and then continued along the coast into Pénestin before looping back. The views were incredible, and it was such a peaceful way to see the area. We stopped at a small café along the way for a quick snack, and it felt like we were truly immersed in the local culture.
Another highlight was our trip to Parc de Branféré, a fantastic wildlife park about an hour’s drive away. The kids were amazed by the giraffes and monkeys, and the bird show was a real highlight—we were all mesmerised! It’s definitely worth a visit if you’re staying here. The park is beautifully designed, with wide-open spaces for the animals and plenty of interactive exhibits to engage children and adults alike.
Pénestin itself is a quaint little town with some lovely places to eat, grab a drink, or pick up fresh bread and pastries. It’s close enough to pop out for an easy dinner after a day at the beach or pool. The Saturday market in the town square is a must-visit for fresh produce, artisan goods, and local delicacies.
Domaine d’Inly Campsite Facilities
There’s so much to do at Domaine d’Inly that it’s hard to fit everything into one stay! Here are some of the highlights:
- Equestrian Centre: Our kids loved the pony rides, and the horse treks are a fantastic way to see the countryside. The friendly staff ensure that riders of all experience levels feel confident and safe.
- Mini-Farm: A big hit with little ones who want to meet and feed the animals. From goats and chickens to rabbits and ponies, it’s a hands-on experience that children will cherish.
- Sports Areas: Tennis, football, and even a multi-sports area—great for keeping everyone active. The sports courts are well-maintained, and equipment can be borrowed from the reception desk.
- Fishing Lake: If you fancy a bit of quiet time, the lake is perfect for fishing. Even if you’re not an experienced angler, the peaceful setting makes it worth a visit.
- Bike Hire: Ideal for exploring the local trails and coastline. The bikes are available in various sizes, including child trailers, making it easy for families to enjoy a day out together.
- On-Site Spa: For those seeking relaxation, the small but welcoming spa offers massages and beauty treatments. It’s a great way to unwind while the kids are busy with activities.
Children’s Entertainment & Activities
If you’ve got kids, this campsite is a dream come true. The kids’ club offers everything from arts and crafts to treasure hunts, and the teen club keeps older children busy with sports and social events. The friendly and energetic animation team ensures that every child feels included, and the activities are well-organised and engaging.
Evening entertainment is just as impressive, with magic shows, discos, and live music creating a vibrant atmosphere. The family quiz night was a particular highlight for us—we laughed so much trying to answer the quirky questions! For younger children, the campsite’s mascot makes regular appearances, adding a touch of fun to their day.
The Bar and Snack Options
The bar is the social hub of the campsite, with a friendly vibe and a lovely terrace overlooking the pool. We enjoyed a few casual evenings here, sipping drinks while the kids made new friends.
The outdoor seating area is perfect for soaking up the holiday atmosphere, however make sure you get there early as space is limited especially during high season.
The snack bar serves all the holiday favourites: pizzas, burgers, and even fish and chips. While it’s not gourmet, it’s perfect for a quick bite when you don’t feel like cooking. For more variety, the local restaurants in Pénestin are fantastic—we especially loved trying some fresh seafood by the harbour. The mussels and oysters were a particular highlight, and it’s easy to see why the region is famous for its seafood.
Domaine d’Inly Campsite Shop and Other Facilities
The shop at Domaine d’Inly may be small, but it’s incredibly convenient. It’s stocked with essentials like fresh bread, pastries, and basic groceries, which makes it easy to pick up breakfast without having to leave the site. You’ll also find local specialties, such as Breton biscuits and cider, that are perfect for a picnic or as souvenirs to take home. The shop also sells a selection of toys and camping equipment, which came in handy when we needed extra inflatables for the pool!
For larger grocery shops, there’s a well-stocked supermarket just a short drive away in Pénestin. We visited it a couple of times during our stay to pick up fresh produce and ingredients for BBQ dinners back at our mobile home.
The campsite also has a laundrette with modern washing machines and dryers, making it easy to stay on top of laundry during longer stays. Tokens can be purchased at the main reception, and the facilities were clean and easy to use. For those looking to relax, the spa area offers massages and beauty treatments—perfect for unwinding after a busy day of exploring or entertaining the kids.
WiFi coverage is available across most of the campsite, though the signal can be a little weak in certain areas. It’s free in communal spaces like the bar, but you may need to pay for access in your accommodation if reliable internet is important for your stay. We found it sufficient for checking emails and sharing holiday snaps, but it might not be ideal for streaming or heavy usage.
Eurocamp Accommodation at Domaine d’Inly
Eurocamp offers an excellent range of accommodations at Domaine d’Inly, catering to various budgets and preferences. We stayed in a Premium holiday home, which was spacious, modern, and equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The large decking area was a particular highlight, as it provided the perfect spot for enjoying morning coffee or evening drinks.
Other Eurocamp accommodation options include the Comfort and Comfort XL mobile homes, which are ideal for those want to save a few pounds. For those seeking a unique experience, the campsite also offers glamping tents and lodge-style accommodations that blend rustic charm with modern comforts.
The pitches are thoughtfully laid out, with enough space to ensure privacy while still feeling part of the community. Whether you’re travelling as a couple, with kids, or in a larger group, there’s something for everyone.
Do You Need a Car to Stay Here?
While you don’t absolutely need a car to enjoy Domaine d’Inly, having one definitely adds convenience and flexibility.
The campsite is close enough to the town and beaches to explore on foot or by bike, but a car makes it much easier to visit nearby attractions like Parc de Branféré or the stunning salt marshes of Guérande. Public transport options are limited, so driving is the most practical way to get around.
