Theme parks in France come in all shapes and sizes and we know that the main thing kids want from a family holiday is to have fun. Whatever type of theme park you’re after, France is bound to have something to suit you. Obviously where you go will depend upon what part of France you’re planning to stay in but believe us when we tell you there’s plenty to choose from.

You’ll find a whole range of larger well known theme parks and then alternatively you’ll also find more regional smaller theme parks waiting to be explored. There are also theme parks which offer a whole variety of rides, roller coasters, slides, toboggan runs and waterslides and also you’ll find theme parks which are more educational.

Our Top 5 theme parks in France list is not in any particular order so please don’t think that we favour one massively over any other. They all have their own benefits and we’ve listed them purely as we love them.

Puy du Fou

Puy du Fou has to be one of the best theme parks in France! A trip to Puy du Fou is a spectacular experience irrespective of your age. This wonderful theme park takes you on a voyage into the past where you’ll be able experience 4 historical villages and a variety of live action shows.

The shows see a vast number of actors come together to provide an awe inspiring display including fights, jousting, stunts and explosions. Each of the shows are based upon historical groups such as the Vikings, the Roman Empire, Musketeers and Knights. One of the best things about Puy du Fou is the evening show or Cinéscenie which takes place each evening during high season and includes over 1200 actors over 1 hour and 40 minutes. A trip to Puy du Fou is second to none and should not be missed.

Disneyland® Paris

The largest and most popular theme park in France was always going to be on our top 5 list. Disneyland® Paris needs very little introduction being located very near to France’s capital city Paris. Disney’s only theme park in Europe, Disneyland Paris features so many rides and things to see and do that everyone in the family will be kept busy on your trip. You have the option to explore all five different worlds of Disneyland Paris including Main Street USA, Fantasyland, Frontierland, Adventureland and Discoveryland.

Futuroscope

Futuroscope is a very unique theme park and is also one of the largest in France. The park itself is located within 60 hectares of countryside and is set within some highly modern looking buildings. Futuroscope focuses on multimedia and technology with a host of spectacular array of futuristic entertainment.

Parc Asterix

Head over to Parc Asterix to discover the world of the most famous character in French comic book history. The stories of Asterix and Obelix come alive in the park where you can enjoy a variety of rollercoasters, rides, attractions and meet some of the characters themselves.

Within the park you’ll find a variety of different wolds to explore from Ancient Greece and Rome to Gaul and the Vikings.
