The best of Brittany
This month we focus on camping in Brittany. With lots of campsites to choose from we’ve compiled a selection of some of our favourites which we hope you’ll enjoy! Brittany lies just a short ferry ride across the English Channel and with a beautiful coastline, sandy beaches, picturesque and historic towns and villages and lots to do, it’s not difficult to see why it’s so popular with British tourists.

Close to Beach
L’Atlantique is perfect for families looking for a lively campsite near to a beach. Although the campsite itself is quite lively, the surrounding area is a complete contrast. The campsite boasts a great pool complex with 4 swimming pools, water chutes, water slides and a spa.

Pointe St Gilles offers the best of both worlds with a superb beach just outside it’s entrance and a wonderful new pool complex which lies at it’s centre.

Winning the prestigious La Clef Verte award this family run campsite provides all the usual activities you’d expect from a quality French campsite and the facilities and entertainment on site are also second to none, featuring a restaurant, bar, takeaway, discos and all the children’s clubs you could wish for.
For those that want to leave the campsite and venture into the local town, Benodet is worth a visit filled with various wonderful seaside cafes, restaurants and creperies.

Chateau des Ormes is one of the best places to go camping in Brittany and is widely thought to be one of the best campsites in France.
This superb family run Castels Parc is a firm favourite of family campers mainly due to the quality and quantity of facilities and activities on offer.
Set in over 400 acres and overlooked by a Château, the campsite boasts 4 swimming pools with slides and chutes, spa, jacuzzi, various sporting activities including archery, pony trekking, horse riding, fishing, cycle hire, mini golf, driving range and to top it all off Château des Ormes even has it’s own 18 hole golf course.
To add to the activities on offer this great campsite has a restaurant, takeaway, pizzeria and several bars to keep you entertained at night.
Whether you want to spend your time relaxing in the grounds or taking part in the activities, Château des Ormes is a site for one and all.

If you’re looking for a pitch only campsite in Brittany then Camping le Châtelet could be the one for you.
Set amongst heathland this small yet beautiful campsite has breathtaking sea views giving you the best that Brittany has to offer. Pitches are varied with some looking out across the bay whilst others look towards an ancient hilltop fort.
Although fairly small, le Châtelet still manages to fit in some great facilities with two pools, a lake suitable for fishing, a bar, takeaway, shop and evening entertainment in high season.
One of the best things about le Châtelet is it’s close proximity to two wonderful beaches, Fresnaye and Pissotte, although care must be taken with the steep path to Fresnaye.

Ty Nadan is a great place for families of all ages who are looking for something different.
Set beside the river Elle, in a wooded parkland this Castels Group campsite offers you the ability to relax and enjoy the countryside or immerse yourself in one of the many activities on offer for a fun, action packed family holiday. The woods provide an array of walks, horse riding and cycling opportunities while the river allows you to relax on the sandy banks or take part in canoeing, fishing or kayaking.
Some may say that a family holiday campsite must have children’s clubs, however in our opinion all of the natural surroundings, combined with the superb four pool water complex, water slide, chutes, sports facilities, activities, discos, restaurant, takeaway and bar, makes Ty Nadan one of the best campsites in Brittany for families.

Les Mouettes is only around 10 miles from the port of Roscoff and is therefore perfect for those families who want to be at their holiday campsite within only 25 minutes of landing in Brittany.
This wonderful campsite has lots of activities on site as well as various children clubs to keep the family entertained. Add to this the great restaurant, takeaway, bar and evening entertainment which is available in peak season and you find yourself with a superb family camping holiday location.
The main attraction at Les Mouettes is the superb pool complex. Featuring 3 massive water slides, a fantastic lazy river which winds its way around the complex, 3 outdoor pools and an indoor heated pool, all of which are suitable for every member of the family.
The local town of Carantec provides a wealth of restaurants and shops to explore and there are even a couple of beaches nearby for those wishing to get out and explore the wonderful Breton coastline.
