Exploring the region...
With around 300 days of sunshine a year, it's not hard to understand why camping in Cote d’Azur is so popular for a family camping holiday in France. Until the end of the 18th century the area was remote and mainly known for fishing, olive groves and perfume until it became a fashionable health resort for the British upper class and it then got the nickname of the French Riviera.
Bordering the Mediterranean sea, with soft sandy beaches and rocky headlands it certainly makes for a perfect beach holiday....not to mention the glamorous towns of St Tropez, Cannes and Nice.
The coastline changes from long beaches and quiet fishing coves to bustling resorts and busy towns.
The region also boasts a cultural and historical interest backdating centuries with some of the hill top villages originating from the Roman Empire.
Camping in the Cote d’Azur certainly provides the perfect location for a family camping holiday in France with something for everyone. Relax on the soft sandy beaches, explore further inland and visit some of the villages and towns filled with history.
Alternatively spot the rich and famous in one of the more up market resorts...the choice is yours!
